CloseToday's passage is Matthew 28:16-20. Shortly before His ascension, Jesus met with the disciples on a mountain in Galilee. There He gave the 11 disciples His vision for who the church was to be and what it was to do after His ascension. The vision was inspiring, motivating, and probably a bit intimidating. He promised, however, to be with them, assuring them that even though the task was daunting, they could complete it. Even though 2000 years have passed, the vision Jesus gave the disciples is the same vision He has for His church today. His presence and power assure us it is doable! From the top of the mountain we see the mandate, scope, and process of God's vision.
